Cricket Recount

Guess what our hapu did? Our hapu went to the multispace on Monday’s. We Learned skills like Overarm Underarm and Bowling. Our first session was fun i thought. We learned overarm. I liked our coach and her name was Coach Josie. My favourite skill I learned was hitting the ball. How we hit the ball is you have to concentrate on the ball. At the end we would play a game called catch the ball. Coach Josie said. . . “You need to have your eye on the ball” “I might be tricking you” and she did. Suri was a champion at catching the ball, and she Never misses. In my mind i said”OMG SHE IS SO GOOD!”. When the balls go out of the circle Suri would always dive in and catch it. When the ball is wonking or been hit to soft Suri saved the ball like a Superheroes. Next session we were throwing the ball and trying to hit the wicket. I hit the wicket two or three times. I was proud and I thought i would do better. Our last session we were actually hitting the wicket but with a bat. I was the second to hit the ball with the bat.I hit twos of the balls. When i was the person to throw the ball coach Josie said ”Nice throw!”.I wa surprised. It might have been my best throwing the ball so good for cricket! I felt happy that was my expression I also felt excited when i went to the multispace.I hope we can meet Josie again to learn more cricket!

Narrative Assessment: Tammy and Writing

Learner: Tammy
Area:Writing Level 2
Date: 12.11.18
In Writing, we have been recounting our experiences. A recount is retelling a learner's experience from their own point of view. Some of our experiences include: the blindfold game, cricket and basketball. We have been learning to add in detail by using adjectives, verbs, feelings and emotions in our writing. Our hapu have been working hard to include at least three different words to paint a better picture for our audience.

Tammy is able to write and her build sentences into paragraphs. She has been learning to add more detail and ideas into her writing using new interesting words like adjectives and verbs. Tammy thinks carefully about her ideas and is able to put them into paragraphs. She is developing her curiosity by asking questions and is slowly making connections by using ideas discussed in a larger group. Tammy collaborates with others by sharing her ideas in discussions. She is beginning to think carefully about her ideas and the audience she is writing for.

Key Competencies: Managing Self Thinking Relating to others Participating and Contributing and through the use of digital tools - using language, symbols and texts

Next Steps:
Continue using detailed ideas in your writing
Reflect on your learning and think of how you can improve
Keep practising your writing at home

blindfold game

Guess what happened? Our hapu went to the library. We played the blindfold game My experience was okay but also scary because i thought i would bump into something. But i did not bump. I also felt cold because Jenny guided me outside till i noticed that it felt colder. I was like “Why is it so Cold?” then “AHHHHHH!” it was hilarious and not nice Next day we went on the playground and i guided Jenny. But she told me to take her to the swing and i guided her there. When it was my turn i was so scared. Because on the playground there is lots of rocks. While i was blindfolded it was so DARK! I walked so weird it was like i am a blind Zombie. I shivered a little bit because I almost tripped! :( My Experience was nice at playground and nervous and i wish i could do it again!
